  • Botanical Description: Plumeria rubra is a small deciduous tree or shrub that typically grows to 2-8 meters (6-25 feet) in height. The leaves are large, leathery, and oblong, measuring up to 30-50 cm long, with a glossy green surface and prominent veins. The flowers are most notable for their beauty and fragrance. They appear in clusters at the end of branches and can be white, pink, red, or multi-colored. Each flower has five petals, often with a yellow center, and emits a strong, sweet fragrance that is especially noticeable in the evening. The fruit is a pair of follicles, which are rarely seen in cultivated varieties because the flowers are often sterile.
