Botanical Description: Eragrostis tenella is a tufted annual grass that typically grows to about 15-50 cm in height, making it relatively low-growing compared to some other grass species. The stems (culms) are slender and may either stand erect or spread along the ground. The leaves are narrow, linear, and flat, usually a few millimeters wide, with a soft texture. Eragrostis tenella produces panicles of small, delicate flowers that are typically purplish or red at maturity. The fruit is a tiny, hard caryopsis, typical of grass species.
