  • Botanical Description: Elaphoglossum barteri is a terrestrial or epiphytic fern with a short, creeping rhizome covered with dark, brown scales. The fronds are simple, undivided, and leathery. They are typically dark green, glossy, and can grow to be quite large. The fertile fronds, which bear sporangia, are similar in shape to the sterile fronds but may be slightly narrower. The sori (clusters of spore-producing structures) are located on the underside of the fertile fronds, lacking a true indusium (protective covering).
  • Flowering/Fruiting: As a fern, Elaphoglossum barteri does not produce flowers. Instead, it reproduces via spores.
