Botanical Description: Combretum racemosum is a deciduous tree or large shrub that typically grows to a height of 10 to 15 meters (33 to 49 feet). It has a spreading habit with a rounded canopy. The tree features multiple branches that form a dense, bushy structure. The bark is smooth to slightly textured and can vary in color from grey to brown. The leaves are simple, oval to oblong, and can be up to 10 cm (4 inches) long. They are arranged opposite each other along the branches. Leaves are typically leathery and glossy, with a smooth surface and a slightly wavy margin. The foliage is a vibrant green, turning yellow or orange before shedding in the dry season. The flowers of Combretum racemosum are borne in dense racemes, which are axillary or terminal. The small flowers are usually creamy white to pale yellow, sometimes with a pinkish hue. They are tubular, with petals that spread outward at the tips. The flowering season is generally in the spring, but the exact timing can vary based on the geographic location and climatic conditions. The plant produces small, rounded fruits that are initially green, turning red or pinkish as they mature.
