  • Botanical Description: The leaves of Artocarpus altilis are large, deeply cut into lobes, and have a glossy, dark green appearance. The tree produces small, greenish flowers that are not particularly showy. Male and female flowers are found on the same tree, with male flowers forming cylindrical spikes and female flowers forming dense clusters. The fruit is large, round to oblong, and covered with a rough, spiky skin. When mature, the fruit's flesh is starchy and creamy, resembling bread when cooked.
